Disgraced Former Melrose Park Police Chief, And Ex-Con, Vito Scavo, Is Now A Fugitive? (see continuing updates)

Attention Public – This is a Public Service Announcement for Cook County and Kendall County, Illinois, area.

Disgraced former Melrose Park Police Chief, and ex-con, Vito Scavo was recently indicted by a Kendall County grand jury on three Class 3 Felonies. These charges stem from a November, 2017, incident (Kendall County Case # 2018 CF 168).

Count 1: Unlawful Possession of weapon (Class 3 Felony)

Count 2: Felon knowingly possessing firearm with revoked FOI card (Class 3 Felony)

Count 3: Possession of firearm without requisite firearm owner card (Class 3 Felony)

Possible/alleged fugitive Vito Scavo is presently at large, and is ordered (when captured) to be held on $25,000.00 bond.

If you see alleged fugitive Vito Scavo, please know that you have a duty to report his whereabouts to police immediately. If you fail to do so, you may be arrested for aiding and abetting an alleged fugitive.

Possible/alleged fugitive Vito Scavo is known to frequent Vito’s Old Italian Restaurant located at 7308 W. North Ave., Elmwood Park, Illinois.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois has jurisdiction over the aforementioned crimes allegedly committed by Vito Scavo. We’ll see what the U.S. Attorney’s Office intends to do with this possible career criminal.

 

Note (May 29, 2018): Despite the fact that a warrant for Vito Scavo’s arrest was issued during the week of May 21, 2018, there is a question as to whether he is considered a fugitive, or not.

Update (May 31, 2018): On information Scavo recently surrendered himself to a police agency, and posted bond. Public records have not yet been updated to reflect his new court date.

Update (June 14, 2018):  Attorney Boyd Ingemunson recently filed an appearance on behalf of Vito Scavo regarding the felony criminal case indicated herein (Gun Case No. 2018 CF 168). Scavo’s court date is set for, Tuesday, June 26, 2018, in front of Judge Robert Pilmer, Room 115, 9:00AM, Kendall County Courthouse, 807 W. John Street, Yorkville, Illinois.
