I do not know what part of Durkin’s explanation I find more humorous. Is it the part where we are supposed to believe that Elmwood Park is the savior in this bizarre fraud matter? Or, is it the part where there was no other possible way to keep the investigation confidential other than by allowing Wasilenko to remain on duty as a police sergeant?
Only in Elmwood Park do things like this occur, as far as I know. Skip’s thanks to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office at the end of the Wasilenko portion of the board meeting was almost as difficult for me to watch as the part when he basically (according to my interpretation) suggested that Elmwood Park residents are dumb for not seeing things the way Village Attorney Michael Durkin had outlined in his disturbing explanation on the Wasilenko matter. I think Skip better stop watching Boss, as he is clearly starting to emulate Tom Kane, Kelsey Grammer’s amazingly accurate portrayal of a Chicago Machine autocrat.
But the fun doesn’t end there…
During the public speaking portion of same meeting, Skip engaged a resident by the name of Frank McPartlin, who is presently an official candidate in the upcoming Cook County Commissioners race where he is challenging incumbent Peter Silvestri.
For those of you unfamiliar with Elmwood Park politics, Peter Silvestri is the former Village President of Elmwood Park and the man who initially failed to take action against Sergeant John Wasilenko. President Saviano clearly lured Mr. McPartlin before the board. In the brief period of time that Mr. McPartlin and President Saviano were engaged in conversation, out of nowhere President Saviano appeared to me as if he were dangling a criminal record expungement in front of McPartlin’s face, almost in a similar fashion as how I would imagine a blackmail artist would behave.

I have not heard but do hope he, for the good of our United States of America and for the good of Cook county, snitches on his “boss” John Daley (D). Silvestri is RINO who uses our government office against citizens, using government for himself.
